What’s the craziest thing you would do to make sure your wedding is perfect? Would you get the bone and tendon of your toe snapped so you could fit into some wedding shoes? While that sounds extreme, it’s exactly what one woman with a claw toe did. All of Stephanie Househam’s life, she has to wear sneakers. Whether she was going out on a nice date, dancing or to the office, she wasn’t able to wear shoes that were pretty, delicate and girly.
Instead, she has to wear a pair of sneakers everywhere she went because of the way he littlest toe stuck up awkwardly. When it was time for her to get married to her sweetheart, Stephanie knew that the only way she would be happy was if she could have her cake and eat it too. So, she scheduled the appointment.
Everyone and their mother knew why she was getting the surgery done. She’d never found a reason to before her approaching wedding day. Even the nurses were laughing at the lengths that Stephanie would go through to make her perfect wedding shoes fit. When she finally found the right shoes, she booked the appointment and told them exactly what it was for.
The surgery involved breaking Stephanie’s toe and tendon in order to put in a pin so that it could heal straight again. Yeah I know you want to see what it looked like. Check this out and this one too. And while you’re all shaking your heads at the lengths that Stephanie would go to, joke’s on you. She managed to look absolutely stunning on her wedding day, with the exact shoes of her dreams to match her dress.
Now, with her healing toe, she’ll actually be able to wear more shoes than just a pair of sneakers. Stephanie’s doctors aren’t sure if her toe will ever lay completely flat, but now she’s at least got a foot that actually resembles a foot.
Congratulations to the new couple!
